SquareBrowser is a free, open-source accountability tool. You use it to browse with intention. Your data stays on your device. We provide no warranties, but we also take nothing from you.
By installing and using SquareBrowser, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.
SquareBrowser is free software provided under an open-source licence. These terms exist to protect both users and the project, not to create obligations that don't serve you.
SquareBrowser is a mobile web browser for Android designed to support intentional, accountable internet use. It includes:
You understand and accept these features as core to how the app works.
SquareBrowser does not provide a clear history function. Every URL you visit is recorded in local storage on your device and cannot be deleted through the app.
This is intentional and is a key feature, not a bug. The permanent history exists to support honest self-accountability. It is stored only on your device, visible only to you, and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. You accept this design when you use the app.
SquareBrowser does not offer a private browsing mode. All browsing activity within the app is logged locally. If you require a private browsing mode, SquareBrowser is not the right tool for you.
You agree to use SquareBrowser in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to use SquareBrowser to access illegal content. You are responsible for your own use of the app and for content you access through it.
If you share a device with others, you understand that your browsing history stored in the app may be visible to anyone with access to your device and the app.
SquareBrowser is open source. The source code is available at github.com/MohiuddinSumon/square-browser. Your use of the software is also subject to the terms of the applicable open-source licence.
SquareBrowser is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind โ express or implied. We make no guarantees about the app's availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.
In particular: we do not guarantee that daily limits, Strict Mode, or any other features will prevent access to any content or that they will function without error on all devices.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of SquareBrowser, including but not limited to the impact of permanent history logging on your personal or professional life.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
